Client Companion and the DigiOp Apps website. Last updated 4 August 2026.

The short version: the app runs on your Mac and never sends anything about your work. The one time it goes online for you is a single licence activation; after that it runs offline.

The app on your Mac

Client Companion runs on your own Mac. It has no analytics and no telemetry. It does not send your photographs, file names, session names, ratings or any detail of your shoot to us or to anyone else — ever.

Activation and your licence

To lock your licence to your Mac and keep one purchase to one machine, Client Companion makes a single online check when you activate (within 30 days of first use). That check sends two things and nothing more: your licence key, and a one‑way fingerprint of the machine — a hashed value derived from your Mac’s hardware id that lets us tell one machine from another. It cannot be reversed into your hardware id, and it says nothing about you, your files or your photos. After activation the app runs fully offline.

So we can honour refunds and revoke a licence when needed, the app also fetches a small, public licence‑status file at launch and about once a day while running. That is a plain download of a file that is the same for everyone; it sends us nothing about you.

To let you install new versions, the app also checks for updates by fetching a small update file from our server. That is a standard version check and carries no personal information about you or your work.

The website and the notify list

If you ask to be notified, you send us an email. We store your email address for one purpose only, to tell you when Client Companion is available, and we will remove you the moment you ask. We do not sell, rent or share it. This site uses no advertising or tracking cookies.

Support and beta invites

If you email support, we use your message and address only to answer you. During the private beta, an invitation includes a licence key sent to your email address, which we hold to manage the beta and honour your licence.

Payment

When the app goes on sale, payment is handled by an established payment processor. Your card details are entered with them, not with us, and we never see or store them.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, at any time. Email support@digiopapps.com.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date above. Material changes will be noted on this page.
